Ahbau CreekThe Ahbau Creek Gold prospect is located in central British Columbia to the northwest of the world famous, prolific gold producing Cariboo mining district which is currently undergoing a renaissance (Vancouver Sun June 25th 2011). Property LocationThe property covers 3,357 hectares of both placer and lode claims over a large portion of historic placer workings that were estimated to contain 150,000,000 cubic metres of workable material (Lodi Mines Ltd. Notes on Lodi and Ahbau River, 1960). Ahbau creek is located approximately 80km east of Quesnel, BC and good access to the site is by well-maintained gravel roads that cut across the claims. Historic gold production from placer workings during the early 1900s was estimated at 1.07 million grams of gold (Property File Cyprus Anvil Mullett, W.S., 1961). As a qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify this historical estimate as current mineral resources, the issuer is not treating the historical estimate as current mineral resources and the historical estimate should not be relied upon. Free gold is concentrated in the fluvial and glacial gravels that are found on top of older bedrock and glacial material. Results from a 1960 three-hole churn-drill program include hole 2, drilled to 8.62 metres, with an average values of 0.66 grams of gold per cubic metre and hole 3, drilled to 6.6 metres, with average values of 0.66 grams of gold per cubic metre (Property File Cyprus Anvil Mullett, W.S., 1961). Further work needs to be completed to better assess gold values near the bedrock. Management is currently planning a 2011 work program to further assess the potential of the known gold placer gravel deposits, to explore this highly prospective area and to test the bedrock source of the placer gold. |
